Figure: Zonal VM, Secondary Region, Secondary Disk Zone (R2Z1) Failure.

Overview

    1. AROVA sends notification about replication failure.
    2. The user resolves the issue.
    3. VM protection is suspended and will automatically be resumed once the secondary region has been recovered.
      • While protection is suspended, RPO grows accordingly.
        • It eventually returns to normal after replication is resumed.
      • Protection is temporarily suspended while R2Z1 is unavailable but it will automatically restart once R2Z1 returns to its original state.
        • If protection fails to automatically restart, replication should be stopped and then restarted against the new secondary disk.
          • In this case, protection must be manually restarted by the user.

Figure: Impacted VMs are identified.
