Global Health View (GHV)
Global Health View (“GHV”) is a comprehensive analytical tool that aggregates the status of all JetStream DR components and tabulates them allowing the current state of components to be compared to their previous state and triggers a vCenter alarm if error conditions are encountered.
Every invocation of the tool writes the states of all components to a database. The recorded values can then be compared to states recorded during the next iteration (or reloaded from a previous run). The JetStream DR components tracked by GHV are:
- Clusters
- Hosts
- DRVAs
- Protected Domains
- Protected VMs
- Unreferenced or orphaned disks
- Active CFOs (Continuous Failover)
- Active TFOs (Test Failover)
Additionally, the tool also displays the cumulative number of JetStream DR components, their configuration status, a summary of their individual error statuses, the progress of certain operations like background data replication after SPP, CFO, and if an upgrade is available for a component.
GHV is distributed as a part of "JetStream Tools" OVA and is preferably run in JetStream DR’s MSA appliance. This gives the tool the ability to look at the live system and identify potential problems. Furthermore, it can use the MSA’s saved certificates to log in to vCenter Server automatically instead of requiring vCenter credentials.
