Upgrading the Software
JetStream DR software can be upgraded at any time, even while the product is in use.
Important: Complete all recovery procedures (with the exception of CFO) before upgrading JetStream DR software.
Upgrade Considerations:
- Upgrading JetStream DR software will not stop or disrupt VM protection; however, do not take snapshots while the software is being upgraded.
- DRVAs temporarily become unavailable during the upgrade process and this can cause snapshots created during this time to fail.
- Snapshot failures can be viewed from vCenter.
- After an upgrade completes, DRVAs will resume normal operation and snapshots of protected VMs can be taken.
- If IOFilter is updated during the software upgrade, vCenter will cycle through each host, putting them into maintenance mode for the upgrade.
- Hosts will exit maintenance mode automatically after IOFilter has been upgraded.
- All hosts in the cluster will be upgraded together in the same process.
- The JetStream Management Server is built on AlmaLinux 9 OS (since JetStream DR release 5.0).
