To use JetStream DR for AVS to protect VMs and workloads, a valid JetStream DR subscription is required. JetStream DR for AVS can be subscribed to from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. When a subscription is created, a JSDR subscription ID will be issued to activate the software.

    • When the JetStream DR for AVS subscription expires, data protection will continue for an additional 14-day grace period. After that, newly written data will not be protected.
      • Background data will be accumulated in bitmap mode (but not replicated to the object store).
      • When the subscription is reinstated, Protected Domains and object storage will be re-synced from the bitmaps allowing protection to be resumed rather than necessitating a full re-started from scratch.
    • The JetStream DR subscription ID can be updated/replaced at any time without requiring JSDR software to be reinstalled.
