Protected disk information must remain coherent in the VM/vCenter, MSA, and DRVA. If information about a disk is not present or incorrect, protection of the disk must be stopped. A disk will typically become “orphaned” if the IO Filter is manually detached through vCenter. There is no explicit indication that a disk has become orphaned in the JetStream DR GUI. Evidence of an orphaned disk may be increasing RPO of the protected domain or growing garbage in the object storage. The Health View utility currently integrated into the UI can detect this condition and raise an alert. Removing an orphaned disk typically requires assistance from JetStream support.
