This article applies to all JSDR software versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the Resume Continuous Rehydration on Remote Site<\/em> option was not configured for the initial failover operation, it can be manually started at the recovery site after VMs have been failed over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuous rehydration of the recovery site is typically configured to protect data and VMs operated at the recovery site back to the original protected site. It is in essence operating as \u201ccontinuous failback\u201d to the protected site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After VMs have been failed over, go to the Protected Domains<\/em> tab then click More > Resume Continuous Rehydration<\/strong>.

A dialog window guides the process to resume continuous rehydration (failback) of the recovery site:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. General<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Review the information about the protected domain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. If the information is correct, click the Next <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    2(a). Failback Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Make selections from the drop-down menus to specify the recovery site datacenter, cluster, resource pool (if any), and datastore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click the Next <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      2(b). VM Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Map a Recovery VM Network to the Protected VM Network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Specify a storage policy for VMs (optional).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Click the Next <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        3. Recovery VA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. Specify network settings for the Replication Network to Object Store, Host (IO Filter)\/RocVA to DRVA Network, and Management Network.\n
            \n
          • \u2013 DHCP will be used by default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • \u2013 Static IP addresses can be manually assigned by selecting a network’s Static IP checkbox then clicking its Configure <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • A mix of static and dynamic IP addresses can be used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Click the Next <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            4. Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Review all entered settings on the Summary <\/em>step.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Use the Back <\/strong>button to modify any settings that need to be changed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Click the Resume Continuous Rehydration<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              Continuous rehydration now begins at the protected site to protect VMs of the recovery site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
