{"id":2040,"date":"2022-12-05T17:04:28","date_gmt":"2022-12-06T01:04:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=2040"},"modified":"2024-12-12T14:42:15","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T22:42:15","slug":"restart-msa","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/jetstream-knowledge-base\/restart-msa\/","title":{"rendered":"Restart the MSA Service (CLI)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-info wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">This article applies to all JSDR software versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is how to perform a service restart of the management server appliance (MSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Log in to the MSA web console or use SSH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Issue the command: <code><strong>service vme2 restart<\/strong><\/code>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The <em>PostgreSQL <\/em>and <em>Tomcat8 <\/em>services used by JetStream DR software will be stopped and then restarted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The PostgreSQL service is the MSA DB service and the Tomcat8 service is a webserver service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">While the PostgreSQL and Tomcat8 services are stopped it is not possible to conduct any operations from the vCenter JetStream DR UI plugin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Restarting-Tomcat-Services-(only)\">Restarting Tomcat8 Service (only)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">From JetStream DR software version 4.3 and beyond, it is possible to restart the Tomcat8 service only.
