{"id":2340,"date":"2023-02-28T15:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T23:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=2340"},"modified":"2024-12-12T15:16:15","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T23:16:15","slug":"uninstall-jetdr-with-local-storage","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/jetstream-knowledge-base\/uninstall-jetdr-with-local-storage\/","title":{"rendered":"Uninstall JSDR (with Local Storage)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-info wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">This article applies to all JSDR software versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/online-docs\/jsdr-admin\/Uninstalling.html\">Admin Guide<\/a> for general information about uninstalling JetStream DR software.<br>This articles provides details specific to uninstalling JetStream DR software that uses local storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uninstall Local Storage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Stop protection of VMs in the protected domain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Delete the protected domain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Log in to an ESXi host and uninstall the VIB manually using esxcli:<br><kbd><strong>esxcli software vib remove -n jetdr --maintenance-mode<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Manually move VM compute storage (using Storage vMotion) off the host so it can be restarted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Repeat the above steps for all hosts of the cluster. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">All hosts must be rebooted so the JetStream DR <em>Unconfigure<\/em> task can be completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Uninstall the cluster using vCenter Managed Object Browser (MOB) [<a href=\"https:\/\/vcenter_ip\/mob\">https:\/\/vcenter_ip\/mob<\/a>].\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Unregister the plugin from the ExtensionManager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">If the JetStream DR plugin still appears, restart vCenter server services which should restart <em>vmware-vpxd <\/em>and other dependencies at all once.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restart Services Using VCSA Commands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Services can also be restarted using the following VCSA commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Stop services using the VCSA command:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><kbd><strong>service-control --stop --vsphere-ui<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Re-start services using the VCSA command:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong><kbd>service-control --start --vsphere-ui<\/kbd><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">If the above commands do not work, try changing&#8221;<em>vsphere-ui<\/em>&#8221; to &#8220;<strong><em>all<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Complete Uninstallation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Log back in to vCenter server and the JetStream DR plugin should be uninstalled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Refer to the Admin Guide for general information about uninstalling JetStream DR software.This articles provides details specific to uninstalling JetStream DR software that uses local storage.
