This article applies to all product versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

vCenter server and MSA logs are needed to investigate all JetDR software related issues. Here is how to collect and download support logs for troubleshooting JetStream DR software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

vCenter Server Logs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Refer to the following articles to collect vCenter server logs (vCenter Support Bundle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSA Logs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GUI Option<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

MSA logs are collected directly from the JetStream DR Management Server Appliance (MSA) user interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Access the MSA appliance using a browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The MSA will show registered vCenter server details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select the Click here<\/em><\/strong> link on the line \u201cTo collect MS support log\u2026\u201d

  4. The system will generate an MS support log file and then present a download option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click the Download <\/strong>button.

    Command Line Interface Option<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    MSA support logs can also be downloaded from the command line interface (CLI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Log in to the MSA applicance console.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Run the command: jetdr ms --support<\/strong><\/kbd>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. A support bundle will be generated and can be accessed from the directory \/var\/lib\/vme2\/sub\/<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      RocVA Logs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Typically, RocVA logs are included as a part of the MSA support bundle; however, in a few scenarios RocVA logs will not be captured by the MSA support bundle. Follow the below steps to manually download RocVA logs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Note<\/strong>: A private key (id_rsa_appliance<\/em>) is needed for a passwordless login. The key can be provided by JetStream Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. SSH to the RocVA VM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Log in as root <\/strong>then execute the command:
        journalctl -a | lz4 > \/tmp\/rocva.log.lz4<\/kbd><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. The log file rocva.log.lz4<\/strong><\/kbd> will be generated in the tmp<\/strong><\/kbd> directory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Log in to the RocVA VM using WINSCP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Download the log file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
