This article applies to JetStream DR for AVS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article describes the process to install JetStream DR software in an AVS environment. A set of AVS Run commands<\/em> are provided to automate and facilitate installation and configuration of JetStream DR software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AVS Cloud Admin<\/em> account is granted limited administrative privileges that can impede manual installation of JetStream DR components (such as registering plugins, installing IO Filters, etc); therefore, it is advised to use the provided Run commands whenever possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installation Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Log in to Azure portal (portal.azure.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Navigate to the AVS private cloud platform where JetStream DR software is intended to be deployed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. In the left panel, locate and click the Run command<\/em>.

4. Under Packages<\/em>, select JSDR.Configuration<\/em><\/strong> to expose the menu of its command options.

5. From the menu select Install-JetDRWithStaticIP<\/em><\/strong>.

Alternatively, JetStream DR software can be configured using DHCP.<\/em>
To do this, use the Run command Install-JetDRWithDHCP<\/strong> instead.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Complete the form by entering all necessary details then click the Run <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protected Cluster<\/strong> \u2192 Name of the AVS cluster to be protected.

DataStore<\/strong> \u2192 Name of the datastore where the JetStream MSA will be deployed.

VMName<\/strong> \u2192 Name of the JetStream MSA VM<\/a> (e.g., JetStreamServer<\/em>).

Cluster<\/strong> \u2192 Name of the AVS cluster where the JetStream MSA will be deployed.

MSAIP<\/strong> \u2192 IP address of the JetStream MSA VM.

DNS<\/strong> \u2192 DNS IP address the JetStream MSA VM should use.

Gateway<\/strong> \u2192 IP address of the network gateway for the JetStream MSA VM.

MSA Credentials <\/strong>\u2192 Credentials of the JetStream MSA VM root user<\/strong><\/em>.

HostName<\/strong> \u2192 Hostname (FQDN) of the JetStream MSA VM.

Network<\/strong> \u2192 Name of the NSX-T Data Center network segment where the JetStream MSA will be deployed.

Retain Up to <\/strong>\u2192 Number of days to retain the Run command execution task.

Specify name for execution<\/strong> \u2192 An alphanumeric name for the execution. It is used to verify if the cmdlet runs successfully and should be unique for each run.

Timeout<\/strong> \u2192 A maximum timeout value for the executed Run command.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

7. The Run command status can be monitored under Run execution status.<\/em>

  • Additional details about a Run command execution can be viewed by selecting its Execution name<\/em>.

  • The current status of Run command execution can be viewed in real-time from the Information <\/em>panel.

    If JetStream DR will be deployed to multiple clusters within a single DC, use the Run command \u201cEnable-JetDRForCluster<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d This has to be executed per cluster \u2013 one at a time.

    8. After completing the steps above, refresh the vCenter instance for changes to the JetStream DR plugin to take effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    9. Remaining configuration can be done directly from within the JetStream DR UI.
