However, be aware that while snapshot operations are being processed, VM replication performance may be temporarily impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\"><em>The snapshot chain of a protected VM will NOT be preserved once the VM is restored, failed over, or failed back.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-danger wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\"><em>Performing <strong>intensive<\/strong> snapshot operations on protected VMs is discouraged<\/em> because a significant amount of system overhead can be introduced during the process and the VM snapshot chain will not be preserved for recovered VMs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Snapshots can be created or deleted for VMs that are already being protected.
