After entering the password, press the <strong>Enter <\/strong>key.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"772\" height=\"204\" src=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5753\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-2.png 772w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-2-300x79.png 300w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-2-768x203.png 768w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-2-50x13.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 772px) 100vw, 772px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Change the DNS server IP.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Press the <kbd><strong>i<\/strong><\/kbd> key to switch to insert mode, then edit the DNS IP address.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">To save the changed file, press the ESC key and then type the command <kbd><strong>:wq!<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The new DNS IP address will be changed and displayed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"636\" height=\"115\" src=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5754\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-3.png 636w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-3-300x54.png 300w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-cli-3-50x9.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Enter a new DNS IP address.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">Since the DRVA is a stateless appliance, changing its DNS using this method <em>will not preserve the IP address<\/em> after the DRVA is rebooted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method 2: Using vCenter GUI<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Power off the DRVA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Edit the VM <em>Advanced <\/em>options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Edit all configuration parameter entries matching: <kbd><strong>guestinfo.net.dns.*<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Update all such keys with the new DNS IP value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Power the DRVA back on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"516\" src=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-vCenter-gui.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5755\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-vCenter-gui.png 698w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-vCenter-gui-300x222.png 300w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/drva-vCenter-gui-50x37.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Edit configuration parameters from the vCenter GUI.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">This method should be used when a DRVA is deployed using static IP to ensure the new IP value will persist after a DRVA reboot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method 3: Using a PowerShell Script<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Use the PowerShell script (<kbd><strong>change_drva_addr_new.ps1<\/strong><\/kbd>) provided from JetStream Software to change the DRVA DHCP IP to static IP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Add the DNS entry to the script (as shown in the example below) to update the DNS automatically:<br><kbd><strong>[netConfig]@{ netName=\"VM Network\"; gw=\"*\"; setup=\"\"; routes=\"\"; dns=\"10.40.0.9\"}<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/jetstream-knowledge-base\/change_drva_addr_new-ps1\/\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"5757\">Click here for example script.<\/a><br><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-info wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">In order to work properly, the script must be executed from PowerShell.
