This article applies to all JSDR software versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By default, DRVA replication log disks are created with a thick provision lazy zeroed <\/em>storage policy (irrespective of datastore defaulty policy). However, if it is necessary to switch to thin provisioning<\/em> to optimize storage space usage, refer to the following article for guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manually Change Storage Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Azure Cloud admin users can manually change the VM storage policy as follows:\n
      \n
    • Navigate to vCenter > select DRVA VM > editing settings > expand Hard disk > VM Storage policy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • From the drop-down menu, select the desired storage policy then click OK <\/strong>to apply changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Change Storage Policy Using the Run Command<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Log in to Azure portal and select Operations > Run command<\/strong> under the left side navigation panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Expand the Microsoft.AVS.Management<\/strong> command.\n
          \n
        • Select Get-StoragePolicies<\/strong><\/em> to view all the vSAN-based storage policies available to set on a VM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          • Note the name of the desired storage policy to use. For example: RAID-5 FTT-1<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Go back to the Microsoft.AVS.Management<\/strong> command package and select Set-VMStoragePolicy<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            • Specify the storage policy name (noted in the above step) and enter the VM name to change.\n
