However, if it is necessary to switch to <em>thin provisioning<\/em> to optimize storage space usage, refer to the following article for guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Manually Change Storage Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Azure Cloud admin users can manually change the VM storage policy as follows:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Navigate to <strong>vCenter &gt; select DRVA VM &gt; editing settings &gt; expand Hard disk &gt; VM Storage policy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">From the drop-down menu, select the desired storage policy then click <strong>OK <\/strong>to apply changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Change Storage Policy Using the Run Command<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Log in to Azure portal and select <strong>Operations &gt; Run command<\/strong> under the left side navigation panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Expand the <strong>Microsoft.AVS.Management<\/strong> command.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Select <em><strong>Get-StoragePolicies<\/strong><\/em> to view all the vSAN-based storage policies available to set on a VM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/run-command-options.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5764\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/run-command-options.png 1000w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/run-command-options-300x126.png 300w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/run-command-options-768x323.png 768w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/run-command-options-50x21.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Microsoft.AVS.Management commands.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Note the name of the desired storage policy to use.
