Check if the host is currently in <em>maintenance mode <\/em>or if any <em>affinity rules <\/em>are blocking the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">2. Ensure there are no other errors or issues with the host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">3. Issue the following command from the ESXi CLI to determine if the old IO Filter VIB has been removed: <kbd><strong>esxcli software vib list | grep jet<\/strong><\/kbd><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">6. If the old VIB has <em>not been removed<\/em>, attempt to manually remove it and then resume the upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The host must be in maintenance mode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Issue the following command to remove the VIB: <kbd><strong>esxcli software vib remove -n \"&lt;VIB name from the (step-5 command output)&gt;\"<\/strong><\/kbd>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">For example: <kbd><strong>esxcli software vib remove -n \"jet\"<\/strong><\/kbd><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">If VIB removal from the host is unsuccessful using the above command, reboot the host and try again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">7. The <em>Resume <\/em>function of the Run command upgrade may result in the message &#8220;<em>No upgrade available for cluster.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">This can occur if a previous upgrade attempt updated the <kbd><strong>vibUrl<\/strong><\/kbd> in the cluster causing it to now point to the current IO Filter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">In this case, execute the Run command &#8220;<em>resolve-cluster issue<\/em>&#8221; to re-initiate the failed cluster upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"967\" src=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/run-command-error.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5850\" style=\"width:479px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/run-command-error.png 850w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/run-command-error-264x300.png 264w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/run-command-error-768x874.png 768w, https:\/\/jetstreamsoft.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/run-command-error-44x50.png 44w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">No upgrade available for cluster message.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">8. Attempt to restart the affected host after placing it into maintenance mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">This action will automatically install the new IO Filter VIB.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">If this step fails the new VIB may need to be manually installed on the host.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-alert wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">For the AVS environment, Microsoft support assistance is required for the ESXi CLI access, host reboot or manual VIB installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Problem During the JetStream DR upgrade process, which includes upgrading IO Filter, a failure may be reported and the upgrade task can time out.
