Snapshots can be created or deleted for VMs that are already being protected. However, be aware that while snapshot operations are being processed, VM replication performance may be temporarily impacted.
The snapshot chain of a protected VM will NOT be preserved once the VM is restored, failed over, or failed back.
Performing intensive snapshot operations on protected VMs is discouraged because a significant amount of system overhead can be introduced during the process and the VM snapshot chain will not be preserved for recovered VMs.
