A standalone Bandwidth Testing Tool (BWT) is provided by JetStream Software to evaluate the potential performance of Azure Blob storage and replication bandwidth when used with JetStream DR software.
To use BWT, an Azure Blob storage account must be created with a VPN or Express Route connection that would be used for DR data replication. BWT will evaluate:
- Blob Store availability and storage configuration correctness
- Optimal number of concurrent streams required for maximum bandwidth
- Maximum upload and download bandwidth
- Minimum, maximum, and average latency
BWT can be used in conjunction with another JetStream Software utility called Capacity Planning Tool. The Capacity Planning Tool will estimate required DR resources, define protected domains, and generate “protection plans” used to automate various JetStream DR functions.
