Additional independent VMs can be added to an existing Protected Domain without restriction, provided they belong to the protected project.

    • Navigate to the Protected Domains screen.
    • Select the Independent Protected VMs tab then click the START PROTECTION button that appears on the screen.
      • A pop-up window will appear listing all VMs available in the protected project under the primary region.
    • Select desired VM(s) then submit the task(s) to initiate protection. 
      • AROVA will check protection eligibility of the selected VMs, and if eligible, start protection immediately (create secondary disks, create CG and start replication for each VM’s disks).

Note: If failover is performed while VMs being added have the protection status Initializing or Initial Sync, they will be skipped from failover.
