The JetStream DR Management Server Appliance (MSA) is deployed to a vSphere host in the service cluster.

Deployment to Azure and registration are automated by a Run command that is executed when the software is subscribed to from the Azure Marketplace. If JetStream DR is installed from the .OVA installation package, it will be necessary to manually deploy and register the MSA.

    • Use a vSphere Client connected to the vCenter Server to manage the host.
      • JetStream DR requires the use of a vSphere Client compatible with the installed version of vSphere.
    • The MSA uses a service account registered with vCenter to communicate with and manage hosts in the cluster.
    • The .OVA file distributed from JetStream Software contains all the necessary components required by the vSphere Client (the .OVA archive file contains the JetStream DR .OVF package files).

Important: To deploy the MSA and its components, you must have vCenter Server admin privileges to install third party vSphere Client extension plug-ins.

Note: If JetStream DR for AVS is subscribed to from Azure Marketplace, it is not necessary to obtain the .OVA distribution package from JetStream Software. All required components will be deployed directly from the Azure Marketplace.
