A Protected Domain can be restored to the original primary site in any condition (e.g., still operational but corrupted or even damaged/missing).

Important: When restoring to the original primary site make sure it has a working MSA or install a new one if the original one has been damaged or no longer exists.

If the primary site is operational and still has local ownership of the Protected Domain, ensure the vCenter inventory is not altered prior to performing the restore action (e.g., remove inaccessible VMs).

Important: If the protected site ownership is "local" and the DRVA is still accessible but in a stopped state, do not attempt to power it back on before restoring the Domain. Restore the Domain first and then perform any necessary cleanup operations afterward.

Figure 174: Example: Make sure the primary site has Local ownership before restoring (if applicable).
