Monitoring Protection
AROVA monitors and reports the following replication and protection information:
Monitored Condition |
Description |
Replication Status reports the current state of disk replication activity. It can be in one of three states: Active, Issue(s) present, or Stopped. |
|
Protection Status is reported as one of five states: Initializing, Initial Sync, Recoverable, Error, or Unprotected. |
|
RPO (in seconds) |
Recovery Point Objective ("RPO") reports the (current) maximum amount of time (i.e., data) that could be lost due to a disaster event. (E.g., An RPO of 45 seconds means if an unplanned disaster occurs, no more than 45 seconds of time would be allowed to elapse before the next reliable backup that can be restored.) RPO will typically be less than 1 minute. A high RPO value can indicate potential problems or inconsistency with replication bandwidth. |
Note: AROVA can notify users about replication and protection failures.
