JetStream DR Network Configuration C
Three or four segments: Shared management and internal data, dedicated iSCSI replication log, and dedicated object replication segments
Table 3: Three or four network segments – Shared management, dedicated external replication and dedicated iSCSI replication log network(s).
- This configuration adds dedicated network segment(s) for iSCSI replication log traffic.
- 1 additional network for ISCSI access to replication log LUN(s).
- 2nd additional network for ISCSI access if iSCSI multipathing is configured.
- This configuration is for sites with ISCSI Replication Log volumes.
- Not applicable for AVS deployments or where virtual disks are used for replication log volumes.
- Internal data traffic will continue to flow via the management network segment.
- All JetStream appliances are connected to the shared management network segment.
- DHCP is required on the shared management network for RVM as they are deployed during restore operations.
- Ensure that the DHCP IP address range is equal to or larger than the total number of VMs being recovered simultaneously.
- Each RVM requires an IP address and represents one VM being recovered.
- DRVA(s) will be deployed with 3 or 4 network interfaces (4 with iSCSI multipathing).
- Each DRVA requires 3 or 4 IP addresses (1 per network).
- Management
- External Data
- iSCSI Replication Log
- iSCSI Replication Log 2
- Requires additional gateway/routing planning and configuration for each network segment.
- RocVA(s) will be deployed with 2 network interfaces.
- Each RocVA requires 2 IP addresses (1 per network).
- Management
- External Data
- Requires additional gateway/routing planning and configuration for each network segment.
- MSA continues to access object storage for management/orchestration operations using its single network interface attached to the management network segment.
