JetStream DR Network Configuration B
Two segments for JetStream DR virtual appliances: Shared management, internal data, and replication log segment with a dedicated object replication segment
Figure 3: Two segments – Shared management and dedicated external replication network.
- This configuration adds a second network segment for external object replication traffic.
- Compatible with any JetStream deployment (AVS or on-premises).
- Separates internal traffic from external replication/recovery traffic for DRVA and RocVA
- DRVA and RocVA will be deployed with 2 network interfaces.
- Each DRVA or RocVA requires 2 IP addresses (1 per network)
- Management
- External Data
- Requires additional gateway/routing planning and configuration for each network segment.
- All traffic types except external data replication traffic continue to flow via the management network segment.
- All JetStream appliances are connected to the shared management network segment.
- DHCP is required on the shared management network for RVM as they are deployed during restore operations.
- Ensure that the DHCP IP address range is equal to or larger than the total number of VMs being recovered simultaneously.
- Each RVM requires an IP address and represents one VM being recovered.
- MSA continues to access object storage for management/orchestration operations using its single network interface attached to the management network segment.
- Suitable for sites using virtual disk(s) for DRVA replication log volumes.
